Nyx Lipstick Lingerie: Baby Doll

I've heard about Nyx Lingerie for a while now, especially after joining a group on Facebook dedicated to make-up addicts.

To my pure joy, Boots opened a Nyx counter in their Cardiff store, and it's massive. I was so happy, seriously. Anyway, I picked up a Lipstick Lingerie in Baby Doll which is a nice nude colour and decided to test them out for myself.

It's been a while since I've wanted to try Nyx Cosmetics. Sadly, it hasn't yet hit South Wales (Boots, May 18th I'm coming for ya), but upon my recent visit to London, I obviously had to hit Selfridge's to try them out for myself. After all, I'd heard such amazing things about the quality and value for money on all of their products.

Is £2.50 for a Liquid Lipstick Worth it?

With how much make-up can cost these days, when I see something for under the £5.00 mark, I can't help but be a little apprehensive on whether it actually works. But lately, there's been a lot more of this, where the smaller, cheaper brands are taking the likes of Anastasia Beverly Hills and the massive price tags on. We're seeing make-up brands like Make Up Revolution, who are dedicated to duping the brands that not everybody can afford, making it more accessible for everyone.

Take this Essence lipstick for example - from the outset, I think it looks really sleek, fresh and could possibly have a pretty hefty price tag. However, this bad boy costs just £2.50.

Pixi by Petra Mattelustre Lipstick - Pure Fuchsia

I'm not much of a lipstick person, I'll be honest. I've always lived by the philosophy that it's either eyes or lips. If I wear both, I look like a drag queen, which is just not the look I'm going for. And I'm way more of an eyeshadow typa gal any way.

The one time I did try to be adventurous and leap out of my comfort zone with both the eyes and lips, I coincidentally ended up in a Gay Bar with a Drag Queen. She quickly pointed me out and asked if I worked in Boots because it looked like I'd tested all the colours on my face.

So, point proven. Advice taken. Nuh.

I've gone through the phases of just wearing very natural make-up and some popping lipstick. Usually I've gone for a red on a nice warm day, and I've really liked it. It's always a confidence thing with me though, so this is few and far between! On this occasion, I've got a 'Pure Fuchsia'* and oh, it's daring.
